Why the long face?
This piece will be a second look at the principle behind my previous Jacob’s Ladder sculpture. A high voltage arc will soon climb a group of electrodes inside the tall glass “head”.

I’ve worked out a pair of motorized mechanisms that will make some long skinny arms sway slowly while the arc is activated. At this stage I imagine the whole thing to be on a motion sensor, but I may go with a foot switch.
I got a pretty good load of goodies at the dump this week. You can see the coffee table above that has already given its life to be the base for this new sculpture. I am also really excited about the old cabinet radio. The best part of that find was the box of replacement vacuum tubes.
