Maker Faire 2008 photos

Well, Maker Faire 2008 was this weekend and it was tremendous.  The event was bigger than ever and reportedly backed up traffic all the way onto the San Mateo bridge.  I am only now beginning to recover enough to share a few images.  Thanks to all who came out to show support!

Though not the best photo I have ever taken, this may indicate the level of madness.  You can just see my Squid riding the waves of people.
Reuben Margolin models his matching ring sculpture and sunglasses.  The very definition of cool.
The interactive nature of this piece made it an instant crowd favorite.  They showed their gratitude by attempting to reduce it to dust.
Carl Pisaturo’s mechanical light sculpture also did a good job of attracting photographers like moths to a porch light.  He makes it look so easy.
We mustn’t forget our Fairy Tech Father, the glue that bound us all: CTP.  Shown above cranking out buttons for his geeky minions.  His Breathalyzer Genie is shown above right.
Alan Rorie’s time machine.  Very cool etched brass interior that I unfortunately was not able to successfully photograph.
I was pleased to discover the work of Aharon Bourland.  The creepy furry thing would hop around on its pedestal working overtime to chew right through to the floor with its chrome teeth.
I have long been an admirer of the work of Benjamin Cowden.  His Youtube videos caught my attention a while back.  Lo and behold, he had a booth right next to ours.
