As you may have read in previous posts, I have two big robots currently on display at the San Jose Museum of Art as part of their exhibit Robots: Evolution of a cultural icon. This is big, fun show loaded with great work. I was particularly pleased to be showing along side Clayton Bailey (above) whom I credit for inspiring me along this path when I was young.
The show did not have a public reception, but will be open, free to the public on the evening of May 20, 6-9 pm. They are calling the event “Tech Connect”. I will be there to answer questions and stand around and stuff if anyone would like to come down and check it out. See below for some photos I took during the installation.
Eric Joyner is definitely keeping up the “iconic” end of the show title.
Michael Salter’s phenomenal Styrobot commands the main gallery
I finally got a chance to see one of Jeff Sotto’s paintings in person.
Above left: General Debris is armed, but not yet “armed” if you follow me. And if you still need proof that the show is cool, note the H.C Westermann piece (above right).
