New process video on Youtube

As I may have mentioned in previous posts, I am working on another large robot for the San Jose Museum of Art.  They are having the show “Robots: Evolution of a cultural icon” April 12 through October 19th 2008.  They will also be displaying my “General Debris” sculpture as well.  This is an exciting opportunity for me to have two large pieces in a very nice venue along side a number of other very talented and well know artists.  To aid in the P.R. for the show, they asked me put together a short video describing my creative process and showing how the piece was coming along.  Visit their website to see the video and read about the other artists involved.
You can also get the youtube link directly here.

Since the video was finished, I have made progress on the mechanical aspects of the piece.  I am pretty sure I have figured out the mechanism required to deliver movement to the arms, but this has led me to believe that the whole thing needs additional structural support inside the wooden cabinet.  I will upload video soon to show those results once I am satisfied with them.
