Maker Faire

O.K. so I know its last minute but for anyone who will be at the Maker Faire this weekend at the San Mateo Fairgrounds, be sure to check me out in the Kinetic Sculpture room, which will be in the same building as “robot combat” related thingys.  I will be showing the brand new piece pictured above and a few other recent favorites.  Hope to see you there.
Here is what S.F. Gate had to say about it.
Make it to the Maker Faire
An estimated 40,000 people will descend on the San Mateo fairgrounds this weekend to attend the 2nd annual "Maker Faire," a festival that celebrates the Do-It-Yourself, or DIY, movement.
Put on by the publishers of Make and Craft magazines, the event attracts a curious mix of tech geeks and tinkerers who like to make their own stuff.

According to the Maker Faire organizers, visitors who pony up the $15 entrance fee will be able to see stuff like:
The Kitchen of the Future -- Unlike the retro-futuristic unkept promise of the 50's, this kitchen is musical -- a collection of circuit-bent, MIDI-ready appliances such as a toaster and blender. This debuted in Toronto last year, and for the finale the blender triggered sound samples from the song "Tequila" while blending frozen margaritas...
Moonshine Powered Motors -- David Blume shows how to produce your own alcohol auto fuel from ground corn and enzymes, and how to convert your car to run on it. Blume is the author of "Alcohol Can Be a Gas."...
The Woz -- Steve Wozniak, inventor of the Apple computer will be interviewed Saturday on the main stage.
Swap-O-Rama-Rama Fashion Show -- Participants can donate a bag of old clothes--and then work with a team of celebrated designers to make new clothes. This year's Swap will take place on May 19th (11am to 5pm) and May 20th (11am to 4pm) with a recycled fashion show happening at 5pm on Saturday May 19th.
The show will go from 10 till 6 on Saturday, and 10 to 5 on Sunday. You can still order will call tickets online.
